WE ARE A TEAM. We focus on training dancers not only to be great technicians, but also upstanding young men and women who can work well with others and understand the value of teamwork.  The nationally recognized RCDC Company is founded on the pillars of Respect, Character, Dedication and Creativity.  These values are the core of the RCDC Company.  At Rock City Dance Center, we provide a positive learning experience that is not based solely on winning awards; instead, we promote dancers to use their talents to the best of their abilities. We want every child to be proud of who they are! We serve dancers who love to perform and give them the opportunity to compete and excel on stage alongside their friends and teammates. Company Dancers learn the importance of determination, discipline, and time management; ultimately working hard for what they desire. These skills not only help our students succeed in dance, but also in their future academic, professional, and personal endeavors.

Company History

Rock City Dance Center opened in May 2010 under the direction of Kristen Sadler Pittman.  When the doors opened there were zero students enrolled.  The RCDC Company was founded that first year and started with 60 inaugural members .  Since year one, the training programs at RCDC have been recognized for their talent and creativity.  That first year, the RCDC Company produced three national champions and received two national choreography awards.  Rock City quickly built a reputation for excellence in the competitive dance world regionally and nationally. RCDC is nationally  known for training strong dancers who are not only quality technicians, but also incredible artists. In 2011, RCDC expanded it’s course offerings to include an apprentice competition program. In 2022 we expanded again and launched the Rock City All-Star program, under the direction of Sydney Smith. Through the years, RCDC Company dancers have had the opportunity to compete and perform with Team USA in Italy, Poland and France and also in Disney World. The RCDC elite training programs partner with the RCDC Company to offer students the vigorous training required to turn their passion for the arts into a profession.
